Here I'm attempting to make a list of movies that have an Urban Legend in the plotline, in some the entire film revolves around the UL, in other's it's only a minor part. These aren't alphabetized, I'm trying to put them in order according to how important the UL is in the movie.

I'm now using a new store for movies and books, it's called Half.com - owned by Ebay. Movies for 4 bucks, DVD's for $8.00. Unbelievable.

Urban Legend

Ok, this one probably isn't going to win any awards. But besides the fact that Rebecca Gayheart is one of the most attractive humans on the planet, it's also chock full o' UL's. To really appreciate it you have to be familiar with the ULs, though. I've watched it a couple times and I believe they were actually trying to build the entire story without using anything that wasn't a UL. From the girls calling in to the radio show at the beginning, to the ankle-slash, to the "actual scream of a girl getting murdered" in the disco tune, they're everywhere. Check this one out.

When a Stranger Calls

This one is "The babysitter and the man upstairs" word for word. A very creepy film and a horror classic. The guys voice is actually scarier than the plot, especially at the end. He also makes his charactor seem crazy, rather than just really angry like most movies psychos. This is what got me interested in ULs, once I found out it was based on one.

He Knows You're Alone

"The Scratching" is playing on a movie screen during the first scene of this horror flick

Thanks to Cesar Galindo

CandyMan (and sequels)

The basic plot of all the CandyMan films is just a variation of "Bloody Mary", and just as scary.

Central Station or Central do Brasil

"The Harvested Children" is acted out with the star rescuing one of the children before it was too late.

Dead Man On Campus

This film is based on the legend The Suicide Clause, and how two failing students try to find a suicidal roomate and push him over the edge.

Campfire Tales

The Licked Hand from "Escaped Lunatics" is acted out in this flick.

Thanks to Laura, Jessica & Lavachick for this one

Four Rooms

Quentin Tarantino flick with several short-stories strung together by a bellhop and the hotel they take place in. Has a variation of The Body in the Bed

There's Something About Mary

A variation of The Suicidal Pet is played out by Matt Dillon.

Tommy Boy

The Deer In The Car is acted out very well by Chris Farley and David Spade in this movie. It's not really important to the plot, but it makes up about 20 minutes or so of the flick.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

Pretty good slasher flick, besides the killer using a hook, there's a scene at the beach where they all argue about an Urban Legend each claiming "This is how it REALLY happened." Did I mention Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Geller and Anne Heche are also good reasons to watch this one?

Good Will Hunting

This film is largely based on The Unsolvable Math Problem. Also in a diner, one of Will's friends tells the story of the drunk driver who accidentally steals a police car.

Gremlins

The reason Phoebe Cate's charactor hates Xmas is because her father broke his neck playing Santa Clause one Xmas Eve as in The Stuck Santa. His body wasn't discovered until it began to rot.

Fried Green Tomatoes

Kathy Bates plays out the "Old vs Young" scenario from the Funny Stuff page perfectly.
